NomiSim is what they call me. Naomi Simhon is the name I was given. I am a Sephardic jew from Israeli and middle eastern descent. I grew up in a small town in New Jersey. I am a mother to 3 wonderful children whom I consider gifts, a lucky wife to a loving and supportive husband, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I’m only someone who cares..
I’m only someone who cares. For me movement is freedom and my passion for sharing this freedom, I believe, is my purpose. My hope and dream is that just for a moment together, we see the world in a different light. Things are not how they are. It’s how we choose to see them. Everything begins as a thought and just by changing the way you think, you literally can change your life.
Fear of what can go wrong used to strap me down, today we are here tomorrow is not promised so Being grateful for today and appreciating all of life’s blessings is what changed everything. We’re here today that we know so this moment in its self is a miracle. Life really can be so beautiful if you just open your eyes to see it. Practice and tuning in to this proper and healthy mindset is important because that’s where all your habits are created. If you appreciate your body, your mind, and your soul, you recognize that everything and everyone is perfect exactly as they are. Suddenly you begin to want to treat yourself with respect, love and care and life will always show you that in return. .
My mom is my biggest role model. I look up to her, I’m grateful for all her teachings, and I love her . She infused the love of dance into me. She was the first person to provide me with a healthy space to explore. She owned and operated a dance studio from 1990 to 2000. Her studio was a place for children and teenagers to feel safe, secure and free.
Yoga found me about 8 years ago. I took my first class with Talia Sutra. Her disposition, attitude towards life, love in her heart and inner strength inspired me to dive in. I would say that these past 8 years have been the most interesting yet challenging yet transformative years of my life. I learnt parts about myself that I never even new existed and I just keep wanting to learn more .
There is no ending to any of this and that’s the real ebbnflow of life. Everything is constantly changing shifting and moving just like a beautiful dance. This is an art it’s my art. I have had the privilege of learning different modalities of movement with the most beautiful talented and magical souls. , I am forever grateful for their role in helping and guiding me to here today.. .
